What is Stress?

 We all experience stress in our lives. Stress is our body’s way of protecting itself from harm; however, too much stress can harm our health and the relationships we have with others. It is important to identify the stressors. Once the stressors are identified, we can reduce the stress.

What Causes Stress?

  • Pressure
  • Big changes
  • Worrying about something
  • Uncertainty
  • No control over situations

Psychological and Emotional Signs of Stress:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Trouble sleeping

Tips For Reducing Stress:

  • Let go of things you can’t change
  • Exercise
  • Develop relaxation skills
  • Reduce caffeine intake
  • Journaling
  • Yoga
  • Avoid procrastination
