It’s Not You, It’s Me

Everyone makes mistakes in life, but that does not mean they are bad people. Sometimes we will meet people who are not good for us, but they aren’t bad people. We have to remind ourselves that sometimes just because we love someone it does not make them good. For example, when we talk about family, we believe we must accept and love our family no matter what. However, just because they are family does not mean we should allow them to disturb our peace. Protecting our energy is and should always be our number one priority. When we say, “family is everything” without knowing the whole story, we may be encouraging people to stay in harmful situations with family. Let’s begin to practice allowing others to do what’s best for them.

If you or anyone you know may be in need of someone to talk to and live in the Chicagoland area, feel free to call Olive Branch Counseling Associates at (708) 633-8000 and speak to a professional.
