March was international Women’s Month. This is an annual observance to highlight the contributions of women in history to the present day. International Women’s Day is on March eighth, and in 1980 President Jimmy Carter issued the first presidential proclamation declaring the week of the 8th National Women’s Week. 7 years later congress passed a joint resolution declaring the whole month of March Women’s History Month!
At Olive Branch last month, we had an infographic in the waiting room along with a book to showcase the theme of this month. In addition, we gave the opportunity for our beloved clients to anonymously write anything about a woman who has influenced their lives, like the title hinted at. The women who were written about included: girlfriends, moms, late moms, influencers, great-grandmas, sisters, mentors, grandmothers, teachers, daughters and aunts. It is evident that all of these women have beautiful souls and people who look up to them whether they know it or not.
