For many of the show’s lovers, fall and winter prompt them to rewatch at least a few of their favorite episodes of the show Gilmore Girls. Since the show is long and fast moving there are so many details people may not notice the themes of mental health. After a death, the family seeks counseling showing how it is okay to need help processing feelings after a big event happens within your life. There is also a time when Emily and Lorelei go to therapy together. It exemplifies how relationship counseling exists and may be a great tool for anyone who needs it. Throughout the show, Rory feels as though she must be perfect and many teenagers may feel connected to her in this aspect.
These feelings may be daunting but many people before have been in the same spot. A third point is when Lorelei comes to peace after reconnecting with nature. Nature is a great place for thinking. Being one with nature has been found to help mental health problems such as anxiety and depression (mind.org.uk). Gilmore Girls has been reported as calming, comforting, and the familiarity of the show can trigger the body’s relaxation response. This can cause people feel more calm and less stressed.
