A Mindful Minute

As we start to better understand the human psyche and learn more about how the brain processes information, we have learned that brain cells can be regenerated. It takes 21 days to solidify a habit. When you think about negative things, you are creating neural pathways to keep the negative thoughts productive in your life. Yet, you can rewire your brain and change your life with positivity.

Here are some ways to start the process:

  • Every morning you speak good things into your day. Come up with positive affirmations to say consistently.

Examples

“Today I am going to have a good day.”

“Good things follow me, wherever I go.”

“I can choose to see the good in every situation”

  • Speak at least 3 things that you are grateful for at the start of your day and 3 things that you were grateful for at the end of your day.
  • Sit down, close your eyes, and imagine yourself in the place  you want to be in  your life. Do this everyday and take a small step towards your goal.
  • If a negative thought comes across your mind, take it captive and change the thought into a positive thought.

Example

“I am stupid and can’t do anything right”

Change that to

“I am a very intelligent person and am capable of doing anything I put my mind to”

Even if you don’t believe it, speak it into existence until it becomes your positive mantra!
