Activities with kids while it storms

Spring brings the story weather because of the atmosphere going between the return of the warmth and the leftover coldness from winter. Unpredictable weather can create anxiety and fear in children, as well as adults. This weather causes many days of trying to find things to do inside. There are many activities families can do to help entertain kids and keep them calm during a storm.

One activity to consider is board games. These are ways to have some family competitive fun even on a budget. Most board games are $10 – $20. One game that can teach about different hues of colors and giving descriptions is “Hues and Cues”. A game to test words that begin with certain letter is “Tapple”. There are so many board games out there that involve different ways of thinking. Next time you run to the store, look for a game that may spark joy and friendly competition in your family. Another idea for the family during storms is to build a puzzle. This can foster teamwork, strengthen communication, and create lasting memories which you can keep on the wall. Additionally, people may choose to have a more relaxing night and watch a movie together. Watching movies allows for bonding over certain genres while maybe teaching a life lesson, depending on the movie.

Storms are scary and these ideas will allow for your family to come closer together while providing a distraction from the weather outside.
