Have you ever been on a road trip and have enjoyed the beauty of nature? Currently, I am on the passenger side of the car feeling the summer breeze with my windows down. Due to being on the highway, I’m sure you can imagine how crazy my hair looks right now, but honestly, I must say it feels very relaxing. I can smell the trees that surround the road and contemplate the amount of cars zooming past me. This got me thinking: sometimes we want to relax, but believe we need to book an expensive vacation, however, I am feeling just as relaxed on a weekend getaway.
Oftentimes, my family does not have enough time to book longer vacations as I am either working, at school, or have church commitments. For reasons as such, we decided to implement weekend getaways into our schedules as a way of destressing and relaxing. I wanted to share what I do since many times people do not take paid time off from work or vacation due to not having financial stability to cover travel expenses.
I was recently talking to someone and I expressed to her that booking a hotel with a pool and free breakfast is sometimes all you need to get away from the daily routine. What has your experience been like going on a road trip ? Have you ever been on a weekend getaway or considered it? Perhaps this is what you need after running after your kids all day, a stressful day at work, or simply tired of being home.
Take care of your mental health. We sometimes need to refresh ourselves to glow differently. Let your mind distract itself from the chaos and instead focus on the beauty of nature, wildlife, and peace.
