A Day in the Life of an Olive Branch Intern

I have a great opportunity to work with small children, adults, couples and families at Olive Branch Counseling Associates, Inc. Working with small children keeps me very busy at this site and having an opportunity to work with small children in preschool through eighth grade teaches me how to tap back into my inner child. I quickly learned that children become bored VERY quickly and they do not hesitate to tell you (LOL)! This week I wanted to make my time with my young clients exciting while at the same time purposeful. I utilized puppets to provide psycho-education as well as help my clients express their feelings through this form of play therapy and they loved it! “Meeting the client where they’re at”, has gone to a whole another level for me literally! Meaning, I’m standing on my knees most of the day so that I can stand 3 feet tall while singing “Old McDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-OOOO”, but I don’t mind. It’s an awesome, humbling experience!!!!!
