Hello and welcome! My name is Sandra Radja, I joined the Olive Branch family back in July of 2016 after graduating from Trinity Christian College with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I also completed my graduate internship at Olive Branch where I had the opportunity to conduct individual, couples, and group counseling in a variety of settings such as schools and a women’s homeless shelter. I chose to work in the counseling field because as long as I can remember, I have always had a desire to encourage others, especially the oppressed. This led me to volunteer at my church where I served as a Minister of Care visiting seniors that were ill or homebound. I also volunteered in the SPRED program working with developmentally disabled adults where I learned to appreciate the gifts that all people possess in spite of their limitations or obstacles.
After working as a legal assistant for many years, I experienced a personal tragedy when I and 9 others were laid off due to a bad economy. At the time, it seemed like a terrible thing but it ended up being a “blessing in disguise”. I decided it was time to pursue my passion and became a licensed professional counselor. As a therapist, I enjoy working with clients of all ages ranging from toddlers to adults. It has been rewarding to help clients overcome their struggles and guide them to healing and self-empowerment. One of the challenges that I have faced in the counseling field was learning that “everyone has to march to the beat of their own drum.” Thus, I believe in counseling that allows a client to work at his or her own pace. I offer hope and guidance in a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. I offer counseling in both English and Spanish.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and two dogs. I love reading, long walks in the forest preserves, thrift shopping, and traveling. Please feel free to call me at any time about my services or therapy techniques. I can be reached at 708-512-4633.
